MINNEAPOLIS — D3hockey.com is proud to once again recognize the accomplishments of our student-athletes this season with our D3hockey.com All-American teams. We begin with the women, with men to follow Friday.
The teams, which run three full on-ice groupings deep at each position, are selected by our editorial staff, with input from Sports Information Directors from around the country.
This year's All-America teams are headlined by the National Champion Plattsburgh State Cardinals, who place five players on the 18-member roster. Lake Forest ranks second with four.
All-American teams were previously run on D3hockey.com during the 2012-13 season, and return after a two year hiatus. With that said, Lake Forest's Michelle Greeneway becomes the first player to earn D3hockey.com Women's All-American honors in multiple seasons, as she made the site's inaugural All-American team as a freshman. She is also a four-time AHCA All-American, and the recipient of this year's Laura Hurd National Player of the Year award.
