NCAA rules video articulates points of emphasis

Indianapolis, Indiana- The National Collegiate Athletic Association has released their annual Ice Hockey Rules video for the upcoming 2017-18 campaign. While the upcoming season is not a year in which the rules were set to be changed, the NCAA Ice Hockey Rules committee lays out guidelines for enforcement, also known as Points of Emphasis, each year. Those points include an extension of last year's emphasis on raising the standard of play through tighter enforcement of obstruction penalties in situations where an attacking player has a legally gained advantage, and a new point of emphasis regarding embellishment for the upcoming season. Full explanations, including visual examples, can be found within the following video from the NCAA.
