After seven highly successful seasons as the head men's coach at Adrian College, Ron Fogarty will be stepping down to accept the head coaching position at Division I Princeton. He comes the first men's coach to make the Division III to Division I head coach leap since Hamilton's Norm Bazin accepted the job at UMass Lowell in 2011.

"It was an honor to be considered for this position and now a privilege to be named the head coach of the Princeton hockey program," Fogarty said in a Princeton press realease. "With great enthusiasm, I look forward to building a program that will consistently compete for Ivy League and ECAC championships. Our players will be recognized for excellence in the classroom, ambassadors for the University in the community and relentless competitors on the ice."

An assistant at Bowling Green, Clarkson and Colgate prior to being named the first head coach at Adrian in 2006, Fogarty rolled up a remarkable 167-23-10 record in his seven seasons with the Bulldogs.  Under his guidance, Adrian captured six MCHA regular season championships and five MCHA Harris Cups.  The Bulldogs made four NCAA tournament appearances over that span and finished as national runners-up in 2011.

A native of Sarnia, Ontario, the move to Princeton brings Fogarty back to the ECAC as played collegiately at Colgate from 1991-1995.  In 135 career games with the Red Raiders, Fogarty posted 51 goals and 89 assists and was named to the 1992 All-ECAC Rookie Team.

Fogarty was also a candidate for recent openings at Alaska-Anchorage and Lake Superior State, but ultimately landed at Princeton where he will replace Bob Prier who was fired earlier this offseason after three seasons behind the Tigers' bench.
