Pointers rally, skate to 3-3 tie with Yellowjackets
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point men's hockey team recovered from an early 2-0 deficit but could not push across a game-winning goal as the Pointers skated to a 3-3 tie with UW-Superior on Friday evening at K.B. Willett Arena.

Tom Budziakowski put UWS on the board just over three minutes into the game and Tyler Kline added another goal with 5:30 left in the period for a 2-0 advantage.
UWSP began their comeback in the second period on Nick Kenney (Wixom, MI/Walled Lake Western)'s third goal of the season, assisted by Travis Erstad (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH).
UWS answered back two minutes with Justin Faryna taking advantage of a power play to push the Yellowjackets lead back to two.
With 10:09 remaining in the second, UWS committed a penalty while UWSP took advantage right away with Jon Bockmann (Wind Lake, WI/Muskego) tallying his second goal of the season eight seconds into the power play.
Will Aide (Bismarck, ND/Bismarck) continued UWSP's comeback later in the second as he scored his first goal as a member of Pointers, assisted by Scott Henegar (Trenton, MI/Trenton) and Bockmann.
Tied at three apiece, UWSP outshot UWS 14-4 in the third period, but Yellowjackets' goalie Drew Strandberg held the Pointers scoreless and the game moved to overtime.
Each team had opportunities in the extra frame however, each goalie held the opponent scoreless resulting in a 3-3 final.
Nick Graves (Hewitt, WI/Ashwaubenon) tallied 24 saves on 27 attempts while Strandberg stopped 34 in 37 chances.
After being outshot in the first period 10-5, the Pointers finished the game with a 10 shot advantage, 37-27.
UW-Stevens Point (2-3-1, 1-1-1 NCHA) returns to action on Saturday evening to take on UW-Superior for the second game of the weekend matchup at K.B. Willett Arena. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
