The Lake Forest College women's hockey team was defeated 3-1 at UW-Superior Saturday afternoon. Forester freshman Torey Crown scored her first career goal in the loss.
Crown's unassisted score occurred with 10:11 to play in the third period and turned out to be the final goal of the contest.
Superior took the lead at the 5:08 mark of the opening period and added a pair of scores 28 seconds apart early in the third.
The Yellowjackets out-shot the Foresters 31-20 in the game. Lake Forest freshman goaltender Jenna Brankin finished the afternoon with 28 saves, including 11 in both the first and third periods.
Lake Forest fell to 1-2-1 overall and 0-2-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while Superior raised its overall record to 3-1-1 and league mark to 2-0-0.
The Foresters will play at Concordia University Wisconsin Tuesday night at 7:00.
