Buffalo, N.Y. - Senior captain defender Hannah Oganeku (Castle Pines, Colo.) had a goal and two assists to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 4-2 victory over the Buffalo State College Bengals in women's ice hockey action this afternoon at BSC Ice Arena.  Trinity evens its season record at 2-2 with a sweep of the two-game series, having blanked the Bengals in yesterday's game, 1-0.  Buffalo State falls to 4-6.

Trinity opened the scoring in the closing minutes of the first period when Oganeku tallied the first Bantam power-play goal of the season with assists credited to sophomore forward Lauren MacMaster (St. Albert, Alberta) and first-year defender Julia Lee (Ferguson's Cove, Nova Scotia).  The Bantams finished the opening stanza with a 12-to-6 shooting advantage, but Buffalo State took control in the second period and outshot the visitors, 18-4.  Trinity senior goaltender Sydney Belinskas (Port Orange, Fla.) saved the first 17 Bengal shots, but sophomore defender Cheyenne Matson (Wasilla, Alaska) netted her first career goal to tie the score with just 38 seconds left before the final break.

The Bantams reclaimed the lead just 1:43 into the third period on another successful, as senor forward Tasha Adams (Reston, Va.) scored the go-ahead goal from first-year forward Taylor Peracchio (Wayne, N.J.) and senior forward Kelcie Finn (Weymouth, Mass.).  Adams and Oganeku fed senior captain Caroline Howell (Lyme, N.H.) on what proved to be the game-winner 9:07 into the third frame, although Bri Carroll (Peoria, Ariz.) cut the Bantam lead to 3-2 with a Bengal power-play goal with 2:13 on the clock.  Finn iced it for the Bantams with an empty-netter in the final seconds.  Belinskas finished with 33 saves, while Buffalo State goalie Bri Gawronski (Dunkirk, N.Y.) made 20 stops. Trinity will host New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rival Amherst on Friday and Saturday.
