SALEM, Mass. -- A power-play goal for each side in the 1st period set the University of New England and Salem State University on course for a 1-1 overtime draw in women's ice hockey action Tuesday evening (Nov. 21) at Rockett Arena.

The Vikings (0-5-2) got on the board first at the 8:41 mark, as Ally Webster scored with assists credited to Courtney Smith and Kerryann.

The Nor'easters (1-2-4) waited until the final minute of the initial stanza (19:08) to tie things up, when Jessica Tolzman netted her team-leading fourth goal of the season. Both Kyra Yu and Alex Mitchell factored in the play with assists.

UNE managed to keep it level through three different 5-on-3 Salem State advantages during the 2nd and 3rd frames. The Nor'easters then posted a 6-1 edge in shots during the extra period, but nothing found its way home.

Caty Flagg totaled 37 stops for the Nor'easters, while Isabelle Woodward picked up 39 saves for the Vikings.

The two teams will compete again on Sunday (3 p.m.) at Harold Alfond Forum.
