ASTON, Pa. - The twefth-ranked Neumann University men's ice hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision to Fredonia on Friday evening.

The game started out quiet as the teams went into the first intermission scoreless.

The Blue Devils opened the scoring on the power play midway through the second period. The Knights answered back a minute later as Shayne Morrissey found the back of the net for his sixth goal of the season. Steve Low and Casey Rogers tallied the assists. The teams went into the second intermission tied.

At the 6:48 mark of the third period, Fredonia took a 2-1 lead. Four minutes later, the Blue Devils increased their lead to 3-1.

The Knights had a power play as time was winding down in the game, and pulled the goalie as they were down by two. The Blue Devils scored a shorthanded, empty-net goal with 1:06 remaining to seal the win. However, Neumann was not done yet and scored a power play goal with 30 seconds remaining in regulation. Jory Mullin scored from Jon Low.

Neumann (7-4-2) hopes to take the late game momentum into tomorrow as the two teams will meet again beginning at 3:00 PM. Ben Curley made 30 saves in net.
