King's Men's Hockey Edged by Trine 1-0 on Late Goal

KING'S MEN'S HOCKEY EDGED BY TRINE ON GOAL WITH 4:28 REMAINING

PITTSTON -- Tanner Bennett scored the only goal of the game with 4:28 left in regulation as visiting Trine University of Indiana posted a 1-0 victory over King's College in the opening game of the scheduled two-game series between the teams Friday night at Revolution Ice in Pittston.

With the win, Trine improved to 3-9-2 while King's slipped to 0-13.

The Thunder scored even strength when Bennett found the back of the net off assists by Christian Karbler and Dante Suffredini.

Trine owned an overall 33-16 advantage in shots on goal while the Monarchs had a 35-28 lead in face-offs. Both teams were 0-4 in power-play chances. Cameron Anklewich and Anthony Frati led King's with three shots on goal apiece.

King's goalie Link Ferch made 32 saves in the contest while Trine keeper Brett Young had 16 stops.

King's and Trine will conclude their series Saturday with a 3:00 PM matchup at Revolution Ice.
