BIDDEFORD, Maine -- A trio of 3rd-period goals lifted No.14/13 University of New England past Bowdoin College by a 4-1 margin in men's ice hockey action Tuesday night (Jan. 9) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

With the result, the Nor'easters match the program records for winning streak (6) and unbeaten stretch (9-0-1), improving to 11-3-2 on the year. UNE's current run started with a 3-2 win over the Polar Bears back on November 21.

The lone tally of the 1st frame went for the home side, as Tyler Seltenreich scored from Brady Fleurent and Ryan Bloom on the man-advantage at the 16:29 mark.

Bowdoin pulled even on a power-play goal by Thomas Dunleavy just over 20 minutes later, sending play into the 3rd knotted at 1-1.

The nation's most prolific team with an extra-skater got its fifth try of the evening 2:40 into the last stanza, and just 15 seconds elapsed before Chris Jones fired one in to put the Nor'easters ahead for good. Jeff Eppright doubled the cushion (3-1) with 6:32 left, and Christian Rossetti added an empty-net goal in the waning moments to seal it.

Tate Sproxton turned in 28 saves to preserve the victory defending the UNE cage.

Seltenreich, Fleurent, and Bloom shared the team-high of two points. Fleurent's first helper made him the program's career leader in assists, passing his brother, Trevor, who graduated in 2017 with 66.

In goal for the Polar Bears (4-9), Erik Wurman logged 24 stops.

The Nor'easters are off until next Tuesday, when they visit Colby College for a 7 p.m. face-off.
