WATERVILLE, Maine -- Chris Jones tallied two goals and Brady Fleurent racked up four points to lead No.12 University of New England in a 5-1 men's ice hockey triumph over Colby College on Tuesday night (Jan. 16) at Alfond Rink.

The nationally-ranked Nor'easters establish program records for win streak (7 games) and unbeaten span (11 games: 10-0-1) with the victory, improving to 12-3-2 on the year. Big Blue had already topped the Mules (7-7-0) during its run, taking a 5-3 decision in Biddeford just two weeks ago.

UNE had a 4-0 cushion less than 22 minutes into the contest, as Jones and Tyler Seltenreich found the back of the net 90 seconds apart during the initial moments of the 2nd period. Fleurent and Andrew Slotnick had put the finishing touches on the two goals in the 1st frame.

The only shot that got by Ben Churchfield came off the stick of Colby's Michael Rudolf later in the 2nd. Otherwise, the Nor'easters' netminder plotted his way to 31 saves and a ninth result in 10 outings (7-1-2).

Jones notched his second of the evening in the 3rd to cap the scoring. Ryan Bloom supported the offense with two assists.

Andrew Tucci totaled 25 stops for the Mules.

UNE, which ran the table in its non-league schedule (7-0-0), now resumes Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action with a weekend series against Wentworth Institute of Technology. The sides will meet in Everett, Massachusetts on Friday, before Saturday's (7 p.m.) match at the Forum.
