SHELTON, Conn. – Freshman Jordyn McGuire scored her first collegiate goal and added an assist in Nichols College's 4-2 win over Post University Friday night in non-conference action at the SportsCenter of Connecticut.
Junior assistant captain Mikayla Castro scored her first goal of the season and classmate Marg Reid notched her first assist of the campaign as the Bison earned their fifth win of the season. The Bison have never reached the five-win mark before the end of December in the nine-year history of the program, which began in 2008-09.
Senior captain Emily Barden scored for the second-straight game – both game-winning goals – and junior netminder Cassandra Goyette evened her record at 4-4-0 with a 19-save performance.
Nichols outshot the Eagles 57-21. Freshman McKenna Gernander led the Bison with 12 shots and scored her third goal of the season in the first period.
