HARRISVILLE, R.I. – Junior Callie Jackson scored in her second-straight game for the Nichols College women's ice hockey team, which was defeated by Johnson & Wales (RI) University 3-1 in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action Friday evening at Levy Rink.
Freshmen McKenna Gernander and Nicole Cowan picked up assists on the goal, which was Jackson's sixth of the season. The Bison outshot the Wildcats (7-10-3, 1-4-3 CHC) 32-16 – including 12-2 in the third period – and finished the contest 0-for-3 with on the power play.
Jackson opened the scoring with a backhander 5:53 into the contest. The Wildcats knotted the score at one with a goal at 10:02 of the first, then grabbed the lead at 19:02 of the stanza. They added an insurance tally at 19:38 of the second period and held on behind 31 saves from senior netminder Kami Weiner.
