MINNEAPOLIS -- In the second-longest game in NCAA Division III men's hockey history, Tommy Carey's (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) rebound goal 54 seconds into the fourth overtime gave Augsburg University its fourth straight Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff championship, a 2-1 triumph over Saint John's University on Saturday night at Ed Saugestad Rink.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Senior Mack Ohnsted scored 2:53 into the third overtime on Saturday night, lifting his Augsburg College men's hockey team to a 5-4 win over Saint John's to win the MIAC and clinch a berth in the NCAA tournament.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Scoring three goals in the final 6:43 of play, the Augsburg College men's hockey team advanced to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff championship game with a 5-2 semifinal win over Hamline University on Saturday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.
SAINT PAUL, Minn. -- It got a little hairy at the end. Make that it got very hairy at the end. Hamline's men's hockey team rallied from a deficit to take a third period lead ... and then had to hold on tight at the end ... for a 4-3 win at Augsburg in the opening round of the MIAC playoffs.
As the MIAC is set to enter its first weekend of full conference action, Michael Anderson takes a look at the league and finds, perhaps surprisingly, that it's Augsburg who has looked the best thus far.
